How do I reserve a shelter or ball field?

SHELTERS

  • Shelters are available to use on a first-come, first-served basis, unless reserved and paid for in advance. Once payment has been made, you will receive a receipt and a permit confirming your scheduled time.
  • You may come to the Mooresville Parks & Recreation Administrative Office located at 418 Carpenter Ave Monday-Friday between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm to pay and receive your permit, or you may call 704.663.7026 to pay and reserve, and you will be emailed the permit. Reservations may not be made by email or fax.
  • The Park Shelter Fee Schedule link is below.
  • Include any set-up or clean-up time you may need in the time you reserve. Please bring trash bags and remove your trash from the park, as there are often several shelter reservations on any given day.
  • The Shelter Reservation Permit must be in your possession at the time of your event. If someone is using the shelter during your reservation time and refuses to leave, call the non-emergency police department number at the bottom of the permit.
  • Reserving a shelter does not guarantee you sole use of the play area. Others may be using the play area during the time you have reserved the shelter.
  • Risk Management has mandated that the use of inflatables/bounce houses is not allowed at any Town of Mooresville facility.
  • Please be aware that tournaments are held frequently at Mazeppa Road Park and Cornelius Road Park. Parking may be an issue during these times.
  • If you are unable to hold your event due to inclement weather, you must notify our office the following business day to reschedule or to be considered for a refund. If you have any further questions, please call the Admin Office at 704-663-7026.

FIELDS

  • Field space must be reserved and paid for prior to use.
  • Reservations may be made in person at the Talbert Recreation Center or by calling Vic Garrett 704.662.8760 or Derek Andreas 704.663.8376.
  • Once the field rental fee is paid, you will receive a receipt and copy of the Field Reservation Permit. The Field Reservation Permit must be in your possession at the time of your event, in case someone is on the field at your scheduled time.
  • If you are unable to hold your event due to inclement weather, you must notify our office the following business day to reschedule or to be considered for a refund. If you have any further questions, please call Vic Garrett or Derek Andreas (numbers listed above).
