1. Who do I contact with questions about my water/sewer bill, or about setting up a new account?

2. Who do I call to report a water or sewer emergency such as a leaking meter, overflowing manhole or water line break?

During office hours (8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Friday) contact the Public Operations Center at 704-664-4278. If the emergency is not during these times, call the Mooresville Police Department's non-emergency number at 704-664-3311. The Public Utilities Department has staff on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to respond to emergencies.

3. How do I find out more about the quality of my drinking water?

The Town issues a Consumer Confidence Report annually which describes the water treatment process and water quality. You can find the latest report by clicking the link below.

4. What do you think about flushable wipes?

Flushable wipes are promoted as being biodegradable and safe for sewer systems. Unfortunately, they do not break down quickly and can cause a backup into your home, or a sewer spill in the public system. Please do not flush anything down toilets other than toilet paper to protect your system and ours.

5. Can I pour grease down the drain?

No. Grease will harden over time in pipes, and eventually cause a blockage with similar results as flushable wipes. For more information, please visit our F.O.G. page to learn more about "Fats, Oils, and Grease" in the sewer system.
