Gov. Cooper extends Phase II

During a press briefing at 4 p.m. on August 5, Gov. Roy Cooper stated that North Carolina will stay in Phase II for an additional five weeks. Phase II was previously set to expire on August 7. The mask mandate is also still in place during this time, requiring that people wear face coverings when in public places, indoors or outdoors, when physical distancing of six feet from other people who aren’t in the same household or residence isn’t possible.
