Gov. Roy Cooper has announced the extension of Phase II until August 7, which previously would have ended July 17. More information about Phase II can be found at

Additionally, Cooper stated that schools in North Carolina will be re-opening in the fall using the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services’ Plan B scenario, allowing K-12 public schools to reopen in the fall with limited in-person capacity, social distancing, and mask requirements. Districts also have the ability to choose to use Plan C, and opt for completely remote learning. Each school district will determine what is best for their students, and parents should consult their child’s district to learn more about re-opening plans.
